The First of Many...

Yesterday was supposed to be a "cleaning" day. But snowfall = snowman making. But I would rather have happy kids then a clean house. Well...? Not sure about that. Can't I have both. Doubtful. The girls loved making the snowman. I need to get better snowman face accessories. Cup lids and licorice will have to do for now.

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Today, after church, we went up to my parents house and played in the SNOW! This was Kennedy's first time actually playing in the snow. She didn't know what to think of it at first, but it didn't take long for her to start enjoying it. Aubrey on the other hand, has been a snow bunny from day one! As the sun was going down and the temperature easily dropping 10 degrees, both girls begged to stay outside. This is one of the many reasons I just love living in Utah. This is such a fun time of year. I'm so happy that the girls love the outdoors.

Aubrey's Art

Aubrey asked if we could take a picture of her jellyfish and post it on the blog. I just love her preschool teacher, she has the most creative ideas and Aubrey loves each day that shes there.

Happy Birthday....to ME!

On the 4th of December it was my 32nd birthday! Holy cow, I can not believe that I am 32. I still feel like I'm 20. And I'm sure I act like I'm 14. My Mom and sister's took me out to lunch and my sister Susan bought me the CUTEST cake ever! Not only did it look adorable but it was so tasty too! Here are just a couple pictures of the cake.

This year my birthday was so much fun...well I should say the day after. For the second time in a row my birthday has landed on Bob's work Christmas party. Lucky me! These parties are not that bad, but it's not the way I imagine celebrating my birth. So on Friday, we went to lunch and then that night Bob took me to dinner. And to top it off...he actually surprised me with a gift! A camera!! Thank you so much Bob and to everyone that made my special day special.

wise words to remember...

Tonight I went to get Chinese food with my Mom & Kimmy. As tradition, at the end of the meal I received a fortune cookie. I loved the one I got, I just had to share....

You don't have to be faster than the bear, you just have to be faster than the slowest guy running from it.

There's A Mouse About The House

Tonight I was reminded of the show Fear Factor. I am totally embarrassed to admit that I had a MOUSE in my house tonight. YUCK. I was sitting on the couch just minding my own business, when a little creature decided to show up. And lets just say that I freaked! I jumped up on the coffee table and started calling for Bob. Total wuss...I know. Bob kept reminding me that "your bigger then the mouse" "he is more scared of you then you are of it" - how do we even know that logic is true. Has anyone talked to a mouse and asked him. Because I'm sure the mouse would reply saying..."I am SO not afraid of that girl, look at her she's up on a table almost in tears"! Yes, I bet that's exactly what he or she would say!
So, when I would watch Fear Factor I would always say..."oh I could totally do that" or "man that girl is such a wuss". HELLO...I could have NEVER gone on that show. If a tiny mouse scared the you know what out of me, then just think of what a tub full of spider would do!

Ok, so this has never been my favorite holiday and to be honest probably never will be. So sorry if that offends you Halloween freaks out there, you know who you are :)! But I do have to say I've been enjoying the Halloween spirit this year. I think that it might be that Aubrey is now at the age that she can really enjoy all the things this crazy holiday has to offer. I even dressed up for a Halloween party, that's the first time I dressed up in YEARS. Oh and speaking of this Halloween party, did I mention that I was the ONLY adult dressed up! (Thanks Britnee :)) Oh well, Aubrey thought I was a pretty cool cowgirl. We are all so excited to go Trunk-or-Treating at my parents ward. Aubrey is dressing up as an Indian and Kennedy will go as a Kitty Cat. And let me tell you, the other night I arrived into full parenthood...I had a glue gun, sequences, feathers, and beads. I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning putting all these thing on Aubrey's costume. I even bought a mini sewing kit! Man, did I feel crafty.
Hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween!!

Night Two...and going strong

So first of all I need to confess that I have been a total blogger slacker! I always tell Bob that I could live without the internet....hello, what was I thinking. We had our internet down for a few days and I went CRAZY !! So I also must confess that I am addicted to the internet.

Well about the nightlight, Aubrey for MONTHS now has been waking up in the middle of the night. Some nights it's only once other nights is three or four times. Needless to say this has been a problem in our house. I don't do well when I am a woken up in the wee hours of the morning! This does not make a happy Jen. So two days ago I took Aubrey to Target to get her very "special" nightlight. She was so excited to do this. She kept saying that her "special" nightlight won't let her have any bad dreams and that she'll be able to sleep through the night and stay in her bed. I am happy to report that we are now on day TWO of a peaceful night sleep both for Aubrey and the rest of the family! YES!!! I can't believe that I didn't think of putting a nightlight in her room months ago. What can I say, I think I'm a little slow. So I hope by posting this I not jinxing the "special" nightlight and it's magical powers!

pLaYiNg WiTh CoLoR...

Okay, I really think I have a problem. I stay up WAY to late. I'm talking late. Midnight or later. For some of you this may not be a problem, but for me it is. I love my sleep. But I must love playing around on the computer more, because when I get this laptop in my hands I am non stop! Like for instants, these pictures. I ran out of things to look up on the internet, so I was looking at old pictures and decided to play around with the "edit" button. Well needless to say it's been hours of fun. I know I will hate myself in the morning! Hopefully the girls will cooperate and both take a nap tomorrow - yeah right.

Cattle Drive through Suburbia

Today, the girls and I went up to my parents house and drove in the cattle! Well not really, but Kimmy did. Every year since this girl has been with Ryker, she goes up into the mountains and brings the herd home. She has turned into quite the cowgirl...Yeehaw! They take the cattle right through my parents neighborhood, so its kind of tradition to watch. Aubrey remembered watching it last year, she even got to ride on "fire" , a very nice horse, and yelled out "hey cow", I guess the cows respond to that? This year, we rode on the 4 wheeler and just observed. Aubrey was asking all day when it was time to go see the cows. Kennedy was loving it! She was waving to the cows and trying to attempt a "moo" sound. Aubrey was telling everyone her knowledge about cows, the difference between boy cows and girl cows, and how they give us milk and the list goes on and on (trust me). I didn't know she knew so much about cows...way to go Aubrey! They both got to ride on the horse with Kimmy, which was a first for Kennedy. Such a fun day, can't wait until next year. It's fun to see my little sister (the mall brat) turn all cowgirl like.
