I've been helping my Mom "try" to organize her house. Along the way, I've found some old boxes of my stuff. Mostly things I wouldn't mind throwing out, but I did come across this book my sister Susan gave me years ago. Its called The Simply Abundance Journal of Gratitude. This book is so cool, or I should say journal. You have to write down 5 things everyday that your grateful for. I only had about a month or so filled out, but re-reading some of the things I wrote were pretty cool. I am going to start doing this journal again. It's so easy, at least for me, to get caught up in the daily grime of life. Especially as a Mom! I've been feeling like I've been in a never ending cycle...wake up, make beds, feed kids, get kids dressed, laundry, playing with kids, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning, cooking, trying to remember if I had brushed my teeth,...and the list goes on. I've forgotten to recognize the joys in life. So this is my new goal...I'm going to write down at least five things that I am grateful for that day. Starting now...1. My Husband - for finishing a house project that's been going on for two years! :) Thank you so much, it looks great.
2. My kids - we went to the park today and had so much fun.
3. Alone time - everyone in my house seems to go to bed early (not complaining) this is MY time and I enjoy it very much.
4. My Mom - even when I'm married and should be able to take care of myself, she still does such a good job taking care of me. She is wonder woman and I appreciate all she does for me.
5. Facebook - I really am grateful for this - funny, I know. It has re-connected me with so many great people. It's been so much fun to see pictures of old friends and to know a little of what's going on in their lives.
